Slide manipulator - has second nut bonded to slide axially near first nut

The manipulator, to give a controlled sliding action to a slide, has a second nut axially near the first, bonded to the slide. It is of a rigid material with an inner threading slightly larger than the outer threading of the spindle. Pref., the first nut is of a fluorocarbon polymer, e.g. PTFE, and the second nut is of metal. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is for the controlled advance of a tool, probe, pipette and the like, where it has to be positioned accurately. The assembly gives an exact positioning, which can be repeated over long usage, which is not affected by overload on the slide drive.
