In drink prodn. from water and one or more CO2-contg. drink concentrates (esp. high gravity beer), the water is adjusted to above the concentrate temp., is deaerated, carbonated and temporarily stored, and is then cooled and blended with the concentrate(s) to produce the finished drink which is temporarily stored, the pressure of the stored mixed drink and the pressure of the stored carbonated water being at least as high as the CO2 saturation pressure of the CO2-contg. drink concentrate(s). The water is additionally pre-deaerated and stored at a pressure lower than that of the stored deaerated water. The pressure of the stored drink is increased after each further deaeration step. The mixed drink, to be temporarily stored, is introduced below the stored liq. level. ADVANTAGE - Process has low CO2 consumption in the deaeration step,, is suited to use of CO2-contg. drink concentrates and avoids uncontrolled foaming of mixed product.
