The occupant (1) in his or her seat (2) is restrained by the belt (3) running from a floor-mounted anchorage (4) across the hips to a locking mechanism (5) and thence over one shoulder to a roller (6) mounted above the inertia reel (7). The clip (8), attached by the occupant when seated and belted, is slid up to the edge of the roller and this movement is repeated with the occupant leaning forward a few centimetres before reverting to the normal seated position. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use in hot climates; discomfort caused by pressure of the belt against the occupant is avoided without detriment to safety.
