The dowel has in its centre part a wide transverse slit (2) and closed upper part. During fitting the centre part takes over the function of wings which cause the dowel to anchor on the hollow wall. The dowel is made of lightweight plastics and can be fitted without problem in the bore hole in the wall since the OD of the dowel without edge is the same or slightly bulging in the centre. An edge (4) on the lower part of the dowel has several nail-like pins which pass through into the wall and prevent the dowel from co-rotating.
