The top ends of the guide struts (6) have hooks (H) fitting into a wall-fixed rail (S). The support plate or panel (1), for instance for drawing paper, positioned above the support (11) bracket, holds a clamping strip (10) at its top end. A cross-bar extends between the bottom ends of the guide struts. Between the bracket and the cross-bar is a gas pressure spring. A central sensor (4), as lock, is connected on both sides to a spring loaded locking shaft (2) on the end of which is a locking wedge the points of which press into the walls of a guide groove on the guide strut. USE/ADVANTAGE - The holder, esp. folding stand, cannot be lifted out between a vertical position and a position sloping at least 10 deg. to the vertical.
