A load isolating electrical switch unit has mounting (2) that supports the active electrical switch stage (11). This is located within a main housing (1) and is enclosed by a cover (4) that is hinged along the lower edge. The switch element is activated by the operation of pushbutton (12) that is located alongside a second button used for deactivation. The 'on' switch is associated with a spring latch (17). When the 'off' switch is operated the cover may be moved until the spring releases the 'on' button element. Operation can only occur when the cover is secured in position. USE/ADVANTAGE - Protects against switch arcing and errors.
