<p>PURPOSE: To improve reliability by recording a pilot signal in a segment different from a segment to record a video signal, reproducing this pilot signal, displaying the recording state and the reproducing state of information and generating recording and reproducing signals. CONSTITUTION: The oscillation output of an oscillator 501 is divided by a frequency divider 512 and written in a tape in the blanking period of a video signal through a multiplexing gate as a pilot signal. This is read by a head 40 to be inputted to a synchronous detector and on the other hand it is weighted with the output of the oscillator divided by a frequency divider 514 to generate a pulsating output signal. This signal is integrate-processed by a processor 518 to make a signal expressing a recording state. At the time of reproducing, the recorded pilot signal is read, integrated and then compared with a reference voltage to discriminate recording/not-recording. In addition, tape tension can automatically be controlled corresponding to the pulsation of the pilot signal. Thereby the recording and reproducing of tape is made proper and sure.</p> |
