The tubular belt (12) has in the centre (17) seen in cross-section a hard rubber mixt. set above or below the carcase (14) in a flat area. The cross-bending resistance of this rubber mixt. is more than the remaining structure of the middle zone. The two edge zones (13) of the belt (12) in the closed operating state form an overlapping area having a lower cross-bending resistance than that of the centre zone provided with the hard rubber. The hard rubber mixt. is pref. filled with fibres set in or across the longitudinal direction of the belt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplified prodn. of belts made of rubber or rubber-like plastics with embedded textile or metal reinforcements.
