The invention pertains to a high-temperature fuel cell consisting of a porous, combustible gas-consuming anode, a porous, oxygen-consuming cathode, with an electrically insulating, porous ceramic matrix between them, and molten carbonate electrolytes, wherein the cathode is made of a porous nickel-oxide matrix and a thin electrochemically active layer, made of a double oxide, that is not soluble in the molten carbonate. |
