COMMON BUFFER TYPE ATM SWITCH WITH COPYING FUNCTION AND COPYING METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To constitute a switch with high throughput provided with a broadcasting function in a common buffer type ATM switch. CONSTITUTION:In a common buffer type ATM switch constituted of a multiplexer 2, a common buffer memory part 4, a separator 5 and a buffer memory control part 6, a cell copying part 3 is provided between the multiplexer 2 and the above-mentioned common buffer memory part 4. Thus, the cell copying part 3 copies one broadcasting cell in plural numbers corresponding to the information of the copy information table 34, adds corresponding routing information, writes them in the common buffer memory part 4, reads them from the common buffer memory part 4 with the instruction of an output counter and distributes them in respective output paths so that the broadcasting function can be realized.
