摘要 PURPOSE:To make uniform and stable discharge possible by forming a conductive film in part of the dielectric material forming a discharge electrode, the conductive film defining a discharge region in the surface on the metallic electrode side of the dielectric material. CONSTITUTION:A conductive film 17 is provided on one surface of a dielectric material 13 for contact with a metallic electrode 14. The conductive film 17 is a metal coating such as silver, which is formed by evaporation, spraying or printing, and it does not cover the whole surface of the dielectric material 13, but it is formed in part of the surface so as not to extend over the end portion of the dielectric material 13. In addition, the surface of the metallic electrode 14 put in close contact with the conductive film 17 is formed rather smaller than the area of the conductive film 17. Since the dielectric material is thin, it accurately reflects the shape of the conductive film 17 and produces discharge between the dielectric material 13 of the opposite discharge electrode 4. Since the conductive film 17 and the metallic electrode 14 are constructed so that they are closely contacted with each other for instance, by a conductive adhesive, the power supply is performed by applying an alternating voltage to the metallic electrode 14 to cause an alternating voltage across the conductive film 17, so that discharge occurs between the dielectric materials 13.
