PURPOSE:To construct a discharge lamp dimming device small and light and enhance the power efficiency by preventing flickers when the dimming device is lighted and generation of waving sounds, and by lessening the capacitance of a capactor for use in a smoother circuit of a converter and the inductance of a choke coil. CONSTITUTION:A converter 3 composed of a control circuit 4 formed chiefly from IC, a conversion part 5, and a rectifier circuit 6 is connected through a choke coil L to an inverter 1 where a discharge lamp 2 as the load is connected. Part of the oscillation output of the inverter 1 is fed back to the control circuit 4 via a feedback circuit 8 so that the converter operates in synchronization with the frequency twice as high as the oscillation frequency fi of the inverter. |
