PURPOSE:To provide an illumination method for the inside of an expressway tunnel having the capability of preventing visual hindrance and dazzling for a driver by applying the constitution where a beam from each lighting illuminant separately arranged in the tunnel is projected with directivity only in a vehicle travel direction. CONSTITUTION:Each of lighting illuminants 2 sequentially laid at the predetermined distance on walls 1a and 1b at both sides of a tunnel, are made to have directivity for illumination in a vehicle travel direction, so that the illuminants 2 do not come in the direct view of a person on board a vehicle, regardless of a travel lane. Also, the light quantity and installation intervals of each illuminant 2 are so determined that the vehicle travel direction is illuminated approximately evenly and a road in the tunnel can be properly recognized. In addition, a lane division sign 5 is made in such a way as capable of generating a continuous lane separation line with a continuous recurrent reflecting zone. |
