METHOD FOR RESTORING WIDE-BAND SPEECH SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To generate the wide-band speech signal of good quality from a narrow-band speech signal. CONSTITUTION:An LPC analysis of the wide-band speech signal for learning is conducted and the result is quantized into vectors by using a wide-band code book 204. An LPC analysis of the narrow-band speech signal generated from the wide-band speech signal is conducted, respective analysis results and quantization results (code number) are made to correspond to each other, at every frame; and the analysis results are averaged at every same code number to obtain code vectors, which are used as a narrow-band code book 208. An LPC analysis of an input narrow-band speech signal is conducted and the result is quantized into vectors by using the narrow-band code book 208; and the vectors are decoded by using the wide-band code book 204, and the LPC synthesization of the resulting codes is performed to obtain the wide-band speech signal.
