<p>PURPOSE:To improve the electrification characteristics of the positively chargeable toner and developing agent by adding a resin, a coloring agent, a quaternary ammonium salt compound and a metallic soap compound as the toner components and specifying the addition ratios of the quaternary ammonium salt compound and the metallic soap compound to the resin. CONSTITUTION:The addition amount based on the 100 pts.wt. of the resin such as polystyrene of the quaternary ammonium salt compound (X pts.wt.) and that of the metallic soap compound (Y pts.wt.) are selected so as to meet the following relational expressions: X=0.05 to 10, Y=0.005 to 1, X/Y=2-500. At this time the quaternary ammonium salt compound is preferably the compound represented by the formula. In the formula, R1 is a C1-C8 alkyl group; each of R2 and R3 is a C1-C18 alkyl group; R4 is a C1-C8 alkyl group or a benzyl group. Also metal salts such as an Al or Mg salt of fatty acids such as formic acid, lacceric acid can be used as the metallic soap compound. The positively chargeable developing agent contains this positively chargeable toner and a silicone resin coated carrier comprising a ferrite as the core.</p> |
