<p>PURPOSE:To improve the stability of a slab placed on a hearth, by a method wherein supports for the hearth are strongly connected with each other. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of supports 4, which shafts point vertically, are arranged in the longitudinal direction of a furnace and lower metal fittings 5 for a hearth each are fixed to the upper parts of the supports 4. A plurality of metal fittings 6 for the hearth each are fastened onto the lower metal fittings 5. Each of blocks 6a on the underside of the metal fittings 6 has a recess part 6c, into which a projection part 5a on the upper surface of the lower metal fittings 5 can be fitted, and which is formed on the undersurface of the blocks 6a along the longitudinal direction of the furnace and is closely put on both of the projection parts 5a of the lower metal fittings 5 neighboring each other so as to be laid across them. At the same time, the block 6a is fastened to the projection parts 5a of two blocks of the lower metal fittings 5, with two pins 8 pierced in the cross direction of the furnace.</p> |
