PURPOSE:To provide a method which easily makes a single longitudinal mode oscillation and a second harmonic generation to obtain a high-quality green light source in a solid laser using a semiconductor laser as an excitation light source. CONSTITUTION:In a solid laser oscillator comprising a semiconductor laser 1 as an excitation light source, a condensing lens 2 and a resonator using a solid laser medium 4, a single longitudinal oscillation can easily be obtained without using an optical element such as etalon, because a resonator mirror coating 4M is applied on one end face of the solid laser medium 4 and the thickness of the solid laser medium in the direction of the optical axis is 30mum-200mum. In addition, a high-quality green light source can easily be obtained by placing a non-linear optical element in the resonator. |
