The gearing comprises a first mechanical gearbox part and a second hydrostatic gearbox part. The two hydrounits (H1, H2) are mounted inside the gearbox housing (9) next to each other so that their drive or driven shafts (27, 41) are oppositely aligned and are off-set relative to each other by a maximum of the length of one hydrounit in the direction of the axes of symmetry of the shafts. The drum axes (T1, T2) of the hydro units preferably lie in one plane.
