DISH-SHAPED PACKAGING CONTAINER WITH A SUCTION FILTER DESIGNED TO ABSORB WATER

Described is a dish-shaped packaging container (13) consisting of a base (17) designed to hold the goods to be packaged and upwards-extending walls (16), the container being constructed from two superposed hot-formed plastic sheets (14, 15) which are welded together at least along two opposite walls to leave a gap between them in the base region. Located at least in this base region, between the two plastic sheets, is a liquid-absorbent layer (20) and the inner plastic sheet (14) has apertures (19) located in the base to allow liquid to drain through, the liquid-absorbent layer containing a polymer capable of absorbing 10 to 2000 times its own weight of moisture. Also described is a method of manufacturing such a packaging container and its use.
