The working connection between the work plates (46,51) and the flap (5) is first produced where the flap is nearly brought to its closed position but is still open. There is an auxiliary closing lever (48) on the outside of the flap, which engages the guide plate (46) of the work plates with its free end. By moving the guide plate, the flap is pivotted onto its pivot axis (12,13). One end of the closing lever is linked to the lower arm of the pivot lever on which closing force is applied by the closing lever. ADVANTAGE - No manual effort is required to close the rear flap, and the rear flap does not have to be unduly reinforced e.g. for normal compacting action.
