<p>A method of joining components (1, 2) comprising positioning a first component (1) into a bore defined at least partially by a second component (2) containing an intermediate plasticisable material (3). Relative motion is caused between the two components while they are urged together so as to at least partially plasticise the intermediate material. The plasticised material flows within the gap formed between the two components. The relative motion is stopped and the plasticised material allowed to solidify whereby the two components are joined together via the solidified material.</p> |
