METHOD FOR MONITORING AN AREA

A method is specified for monitoring an area with the aid of measurement probes (12), which are arranged in a grid, for determining the self potential with respect to a base probe (13), the measurement probes being interrogated cyclically. It is provided according to the invention that the earth resistance between measurement probes (12) and the base probe (13) is additionally cyclically determined. The invention makes it possible to determine precisely and independently of earth-resistance changes potentials on the surface of an area which is to be investigated. (Fig. 1).
