PURPOSE:To provide a heat-mode optical recording medium little deteriorated through regeneration, high in light resistance and faborable in preservability, wherein a recording layer comprising a coloring matter and two or more singlet oxygen quenchers is provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer (about 0.03-2mum in thickness) comprising (A) a coloring matter [preferably, a carbocyanine coloring matter of formula I (wherein each of phi, psi is indole ring, thiazole ring, pyrimidine ring or the like; X<-> is an anion; m is 0, 1)] and (B) two or more singlet oxygen quenchers [preferably, a chelate compound of a transition metal, for example, acetylacetonatonickel(II), a compound of formula II, Co-bis(benzene-1,2-dithiol)tetrabutylammonium salt] (it is preferred that at least one of the quenchers has an absorption maximum wavelength of longer than that of the coloring matter by amount 50nm) is provided on the base. |
