The invention relates to a shackle lock, especially with a long shackle, comprising a lock body (12, 112), a lock shackle (14, 114) having two shackle arms (14a, 14b; 114a, 114b) which are each displaceable with their free end portions into a shackle-arm receptacle (12a, 12b; 112a, 112b) of the lock body (12, 112) until a locking position of the lock shackle (14, 114) is reached, a locking mechanism (18, 118) rotatable about an axis of rotation (D) especially by means of a key, and at least one locking element (20, 120) which is arranged in the lock body (12, 112) and is in engagement with the locking mechanism (18, 118) and which, when the locking mechanism (18, 118) is actuated, is movable in a guided manner out of a lock-shackle blocking position, in which the locking element (20, 120) is in engagement with the end portion of at least one shackle arm (14a, 14b; 114a, 114b) for locking the lock shackle (14, 114), into a lock-shackle release position, in which the locking element (20, 120) is out of blocking engagement with the end portion of the shackle arm (14a, 14b; 114a, 114b), so that the shackle arm (14a, 14b; 114a, 114b) can be drawn completely out of the shackle-arm receptacle (12a, 12b; 112a, 112b). At the same time, when the locking mechanism (18, 118) is actuated, the locking element (20, 120) connected in an articulated manner to the locking mechanism (18, 118) can be pivoted out of its lock-shackle blocking position into the lock-shackle release position, and vice versa, in a pivoting plane (S) approximately orthogonal to the axis of rotation (D) of the locking mechanism (18, 118).
