[Also in Group XXIX] A pneumatic switch, relay or amplifier comprises a power gas jet nozzle 1, Fig. 1, the jet stream from which is normally biased by a boundary layer effect along the surface of an adjacent body 2 but can be diverted therefrom by the application of a control gas jet to a transverse passage 3 in the body 2. A receiving nozzle may be provided for the diverted main jet stream. A second control nozzle 7<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, may be provided in addition or in place of the passage 3. In another example the main jet stream is normally received by a capacity chamber until it is diverted by the build-up of pressure in the chamber. In Fig. 6, a bi-stable device is formed by providing a second central nozzle 120, a capacity chamber 11 and a feedback connection 12 from the chamber 11 to a transverse passage in the body 200<SP>1</SP>.</p>
