A plate 10 carrying a fixed contact 12 has an upstanding bracket 17 upturned to receive a thermoplastic synthetic resin lining 21 in a hole through which passes spacing bush 22 and a bolt 19 which connects a contact tag 23 to a leaf-spring 18 which provides electrical connection to a moving contact 13. The resin lining 22 may be formed by injection moulding and the spacing bush may be of rolled steel and extends slightly beyond the surface of the lining so that the clamping effect of the bolt 19 and nut 20 on the lining 22 is independent of physical changes in the resin.
