Process for the preparation of hexa-2,4-diyne-1,6-diamines of the general formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R<1>, R<2>, R<3> and R<4> represent C1- to C20-alkyl and R<3> and R<4> additionally represent hydrogen, by reacting diacetylene of the formula II H-C IDENTICAL C-C IDENTICAL C-H (II> with carbonyl compounds of the general formula (III) <IMAGE> in which R<3> and R<4> have the above mentioned meanings, and secondary amines of the general formula IV <IMAGE> in which R<1> and R<2> have the abovementioned meanings, in the presence of Cu<+> catalysts, the reaction being carried out at a pH of 1 to 7 in the presence of a polar solvent at temperatures from (-50) to 150@C and pressures from 0.01 to 1.4 bar. |
