A dye of formula (1) wherein: A is isothiazolyl, benzoisothiazolyl, pyridoisothiazolyl, 1,2,4-thiadiazolyl or 1,3,4-thiadiazolyl; R<1> is an optionally substituted branched chain alkyl group; R<2> is an optionally substituted straight or branched chain alkyl group; and Ring B is unsubstituted or is substituted by from 1 to 4 substituent groups. The dyes are useful for dye diffusion thermal transfer printing, for textile dyeing and printing, for use in colour toners, for coating colour filters and for use in inks, paints, plastics, etc. |
