PURPOSE:To drastically reduce the production cost of corrugated cardboard and also reduce cost of its storage and transportation as well and carry out the packing in a simple manner, speedily, and properly by forming as a packing material a single sheet of corrugated cardboard with folds and incisions impressed where needed. CONSTITUTION:A packing material 1 consisting of a sheet of corrugated cardboard is folded along lines of parallel folds A-D into a rectangular casing first by bending the sheet reversely somewhat in relation to the folds of the casing to be formed and then by folding the sheet toward shaping of the casing. In this folding each of pieces 9, 12 formed in the sheet across the lines of parallel folds A-D and designed to be erected on lines of partial incision or perforations G-J, at one of the parallel folds A-D, receives pressure between the adjoining casing walls which are approaching each other from the two sides of the fold A-D and is made eventually to project inward by itself inside the rectangular casing. When the folding is done halfway, the object for packing is mounted on the upwardly projecting (erected) pieces 12; by completely folding the packing material 1 into the rectangular casing thereafter the downwardly projecting pieces 9 press against the top of the object for packing and fix it in place. Finally fastening flaps 7 are fitted into holders 8. |
