GLASS FIBER WOVEN FABRIC FOR REINFORCING ASPHALT

PURPOSE:To prevent reflection crack oh the road surface without reducing durability or strength by making a treatment liquid composed of an asphalt emulsion and a synthetic rubber emulsion adhere to a specified glass fiber woven fabric. CONSTITUTION:To a glass fiber woven fabric prepared according to the leno weave method and exhibiting 500 to 5000tex strand fineness and 15 to 50mm stitch width, a treatment liquid prepared by blending 75 to 40wt.% asphalt emulsion having 0.8 to 5mum average particle diameter with 25 to 60wt.% synthetic rubber emulsion (e.g. a nonionic NBR emulsion synthesized through emulsion polymerization) having 0.04 to 0.3mum average particle diameter is made to adhere according to the dipping method or the spray method so that the deposited matter as solid may be 5 to 30wt.%. In case this woven fabric is used for pavement of a road, the woven fabric 3 is laid on an asphalt layer 2 formed on the finished ground 1. An overlay 4 is further laid thereon as shown in the figure.
