PURPOSE:To increase the number of revolutions of an engine speedily without increasing unburnt gas or nitrogen oxides and the like in exhaust gas in a device to drive a generator by the engine. CONSTITUTION:Electric power generated by a generator G driven by a gas turbine engine E is stored once in a battery B, and a vehicle V is made to travel by output of a motor M driven by this battery B. When the engine E is accelerated, the generator G is driven temporarily by the battery B, and is made to function as a motor, and the engine E is assisted by the output, and the engine E is accelerated speedily. When acceleration of the engine E is finished, the generator G is made to carry out an original power generating function. Since there is no need to increase a fuel supply quantity sharply when the engine E is accelerated, an increase of unburnt gas or nitrogen oxides and the like in exhaust gas can be prevented. |
