Device has reference point temp. calibration circuit to calibrate electric signals corresp. to a fixed point output from a transducer by a fixed point temp. value measured by a fixed thermometer and set the reference point temp. of optical fibre thermometer. A total temp. calibration arithmetic unit computes and calibrates the total digester temp. distribution from the electric signal output from the transducer and the reference point temp. output from the calibration circuit. A temp. pattern arithmetic circuit computes the total digester temp. distribution target value from the target pulp prodn. and temp. gradation limit of the digester. A controller controls the control valve so that the difference between the measured value and the target value is within the temp. difference set value set in advance.
