PURPOSE:To reduce particulates, NOx or the like by realizing a control to supply the stirring high pressure air into the combustion chamber simultaneously with the finishing of injection from a hydraulic valve-opening type fuel injection nozzle, and thereby causing the oxidized combustion with high heat generation ratio and high flame propagation speed in the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:A storage chamber 8 of the stirring high pressure air is formed in a cylinder head 4 provided with a fuel injection nozzle 5 of the hydraulic valve-opening type to inject the fuel into a combustion chamber 3, and this storage chamber 8 is communicated with the combustion chamber 3 through a communicating port 10. The communicating port 10 is normally closed by a non-return valve 11 to be energized by the energizing force of the spring in the closing direction. A part of the high pressure air within the cylinder 7 is stored in the storage chamber 8 simultaneously with the compression stroke through the non-return valve 11 which is pushingly opened by the air pressure, and the air is trapped by forcibly closing the non-return valve 11 by turning on a solenoid valve 12. Then, the solenoid valve 12 is turned off simultaneously with the finishing of the fuel injection and the non-return valve is opened, contributing to the stirring and combustion of the fuel by injecting the stored air into the combustion chamber 3.
