PURPOSE:To carry out the selection of glass bottles according to colors and dimensionwise with high identification accuracy and high selection accuracy by installing a selecting means for selecting the glass bottles dimensionwise, an arranging means for arranging the glass bottles, a selecting means for selecting the glass bottles according to colors and a means of selecting the glass bottles according to colors by means of remote control of operators. CONSTITUTION:In a system for selecting glass bottles according to colors while transferring them continuously, the supplied glass bottles are selected dimensionwise by a first selecting means A. The glass bottles transferred dimensionwise are arranged to face in the same direction respectively by an arranging means B installed after the means A. In a second selecting means C installed after the means B, the colors of respective glass bottles transferred in the arranged state are identified by an identifying means 31 and selected colorwise. In a selecting means D installed after the means C, the glass bottles transferred without being selected by the second selecting means C are monitored from a remote site and selected according to colors by remote control.
