A process for preparing a radiation image storage panel having a support and a stimulable phosphor layer comprises the first step of forming a phosphor sheet comprising a binder and a stimulable phosphor and the second step of compressing the phosphor sheet on the support under heating up to a temperature of not lower than softening point or melting point of the binder, using a plurality of calender rolls giving different pressure, a combination of a calender roll and a pre-heating means, or a combination of a calender roll and a tension-applying means.
