PURPOSE:To increase the pinning force of an oxide superconductor and to improve the critical current density by dispersing the minute oxides chemically inert to an oxide superconductor in the crystal structure of the oxide superconductor. CONSTITUTION:The fine particles having <=0.1mum size of an oxide chemically inert to an oxide superconductor (e.g. Bi2Sr2CaCuO289) are dispersed in the crystal structure of the superconductor. In this case, the fine particles are directly added to the superconductor and dispersed or the oxide and the oxide superconductor are transiently dissolved in hydrochloric acid and the soln. is heat- treated. Consequently, since the oxides are dispersed in the crystal structure of the superconductor, the crystal is internally distorted to generate a pinning force, the movement of the magnetic flux intruding into the crystal is restricted, and the critical current of the superconductor is increased. |
