摘要

PURPOSE:To easily, efficiently obtain in high yield the subject compound useful as e.g. a raw material for physiologically active substances or functional substances by reducing a specific trifluoromethyl alkyl ketone compound using plant cells. CONSTITUTION:A trifluoromethyl alkyl ketone compound of the formula [R is 4-12C (substituted) alkyl] such as 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-pentanone is reduced into the corresponding alcohol using plant cells such as the cultured cells derived from tobacco or Vinca rosea L., thus affording the objective compound.
