PURPOSE:To provide the carrying jig which speedily carry an optical fiber, connected by a fusion splicing device, to a reinforcement heating part by making it get over an obstacle without twisting, deflecting, and damaging the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The fixed frame 14 of the carrying jig for the optical fiber 4 is fixed to a fusion splicing connection mechanism by tightening a fixing bolt 19. A couple of rotary arms 21 are pivoted on the fixed frame 14 by a support shaft 20 and mutually coupled by a coupling plate 22. The rotary arms 21 are fitted with clamps 24 which clamp the optical fiber 4. Further, the fixed frame 14 is provided with a lock member which temporarily stops stopper pins provided on the rotary arms 21. After the optical fiber is connected at a 1st operation point A as a fusion splicing part, the rotary arms 21 are rotated by holding the coupling plate 22 and the optical fiber 4 clamped in the clamps 24 are carried to a 2nd operation point B as the reinforcement heating part by getting over the obstacle 7. The rotary arm 21 is temporarily stopped halfway during the carrying operation and then a reinforcing sleeve 31 which is fitted loosely around one optical fiber 4 is moved to an optical fiber connection part 4a. |
