PURPOSE:To provide the recognizing device and method of a manufacture member in a production management system which exactly manages the manufacture member. CONSTITUTION:A recognizing device 1 is constituted of a processor 2, optical reader 3, and storage arithmetic unit 4. Then, the optical reader 3 is provided in the conveying part of the processor 2, and when the plural conveying parts are present, the optical readers 3 are provided in each conveying part. And also, each processor 2 can be equipped with a sensor 6 which transmits the signal of the start of a reading operation. In the recognizing method, first of all, the manufacture member is placed at the conveying part, and an identification code applied to the manufacture member is read by the optical reader 3. Next, the read identification code is transferred to the storage arithmetic unit 4, and the processor 2 is made to correspond to the manufacture member. |
