PURPOSE:To unitarily manage the data blocks of plural external storage devices as a logical data block group. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a data block group managing means 102 for managing each data block group by allocating unitary data block identifiers to the entire data block groups of the plural kinds of external storage devices, file managing means 101 for managing the access or operation of a file by storing the unitary data block identifier in the data block identifier table of file managing information 103 provided unitarily in the file held on the data block group, and data block moving means 105 for moving the data block constituting the file between the external storage devices by reloading the data block identifier in the data block identifier table of this file managing means 101.
