摘要 PURPOSE:To double the recording speed in the bi-direction of the reciprocating motion of an information recording medium by selectively turning on a light source in accordance with the direction of the reciprocating motion of the recording medium and by irradiating the medium with the emitted luminous flux. CONSTITUTION:While an optical card is moving in an L direction, only a light source that corresponds to a light spot W2 is emitted, converged on an information track and an information is recorded and simultaneously an optical spot R3 follows and performs a simultaneous verification. Conversely, while the card is moving in an F direction, only a light source that corresponds to a light spot W1 is emitted, converged on the information track, an information is recorded and simultaneously an optical spot R1 performs a simultaneous verification. Having completed one reciprocating recording, move to a next track and recording and verification of information are repeated employing the same operations. Thus, bi-directional recording and verification are performed against information tracks of an optical card and the recording speed is doubled.
