PURPOSE: To measure the uniform electrodepositing property of a material by providing an annular metallic anode and two annular metallic cathodes below the anode at different distances on a cylindrical base body which can rotate around its vertical axis and conducting a measuring instrument while the instrument is dipped in an electrolytic solution, and then, measuring the weights of the deposits on the cathodes. CONSTITUTION: An arm 12 contains a driving means which rotates the instrument 11 while the instrument 11 is supported in an electrolytic solution. The instrument 11 has a nonconductive cylinder 13, an anode element 14 coaxially provided in the upper section of the cylinder 13, cathode elements 15 and 16 coaxially provided below the element 14, and a strip ring electrode 17 which supplies an electric current to the element 14 and connected to the positive side of a power source 20. The negative side of the power source 20 is connected to the elements 15 and 16 through a driving shaft 19. The element 15 is fixed at a prescribed short distance from the element 14 and the element 16 is provided at a prescribed distance from the element 14, with the distance being switched among distances equal to the five, four, three, and two times of the distance between the elements 14 and 15. While two pieces of copper foil having measured weights are respectivey fitted to the elements 15 and 16 and the instrument 11 is dipped and rotated in the electrolytic solution, an electric current is supplied to each element. Then the copper foil is removed from the elements 15 and 16 and the weights of the foil carrying deposits are measured. Then the weights of metallic deposits deposited at different positions are compared with each other.
