<p>PURPOSE:To obtain enough negative charge and triboelectric characterictics which do not depend on temp. or humidity by treating the toner surface with a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains at least a hinder resin and a coloring agent. The binder resin contains polyester obtd. by condensation polymn. of polyhydric alcohol and polybasic carboxylic acid. The surface of the toner is treated with a compd. expressed by R-N=C=O. In formula, R is an alkyl group of 1-15 carbon number. This toner is produced by a method including a process to produce toner base particles and a process to treat the surface of the toner base particle with a compd. expressed by R-N=C=O. The surface of the toner particle has active hydroxyl groups. The active hydroxyl groups are, for example, molecular end hydroxyl groups of polyester used as the binder resin of the toner.</p> |
