PURPOSE:To provide the optical recording medium which has a high reflectivity, can be easily formed with a top coating film and has excellent weatherability by providing the top coating film for reflectivity adjustment consisting of an org. material on the surface on one side of a light transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium having a recording film 12 and a light reflection film 14 or either of these films on the substrate 11 is formed with the top coating film 7 for reflectivity adjustment consisting of the org. material on the surface of the substrate 11 in the direction opposite from the direction where the recording film 12 or the light reflection film 14 is formed. This film 7 exhibits an antireflection function and contributes to an improvement in the reflectivity without adversely affecting a tracking error and error rate. The easy formation of the film 7 is possible as well. The formed film 7 has good physical property adaptability to the substrate 11 and has the excellent weatherability of, for example, the case the medium 1 is left standing in an environment of a high temp. or large thermal fluctuation. The film 7 is preferably a fluororein or silicon resin. |
