PURPOSE:To provide a display device which has superior secrecy keeping characteristics for information invisible except to a specific user and also provide a display device which has secrecy keeping characteristics for information by instantaneously switching the screen. CONSTITUTION:This main display device is constituted having, for example, a display panel 14, an optical shutter 15, and a display control part 17. Further, the output part of pixel electrodes and a 1st driving element is equipped with a memory element with a memory function and a 2nd driving element which writes a display signal to the respective pixel electrodes at the same time for all the pixels of the display panel to obtain an instantaneous switching type display panel. Therefore, a portable information processor which enables only the specific user to see a desired image, but disables others to see it is provided, and the operator can operate the processor while the secrecy is kept. Further, a flash switching type display panel which turns on and off a visualizing means synchronously is provided and the secrecy is more kept.
