ELECTROSTATIC BRUSH CLEANER HAVING SECOND CLEANER

PURPOSE: To surely remove all the toner particles regardless of the polarity of the residual charge of the toner particles by providing a brush rotatably attached to the chamber of a housing and a means for electrically biasing the brush by an AC current. CONSTITUTION: The primary cleaner of a system is an AC electrostatic brush 100 provided with DC bias and designed to take out most of the toner 110 on an image surface 11. A 2nd cleaner for removing the residual toner (and particles) reaccumulated or left behind by a primary cleaning method is a plural- blade integration device 130. The device 130 is disposed on the upstream side of the brush 100 in a moving direction by a photoreceptor 10 shown by an arrow 12. A blade removes the residual toner (and particles) from the surface 11, and the brush 100 is biased to a high level so that maximum toner quantity cleaning ability can be achieved.
