PURPOSE:To provide the color filter substrate improved in production yield. CONSTITUTION:This color filter substrate 1 is formed by successively laminating and disposing color filters 3, a top coat 4 of a polyimide photosensitive resin which is an org. resin and a transparent conductive electrode 5 on a flat planar glass substrate 2 consisting of soda lime glass. A top coat 6 of a polyimide photosensitive resin which is an org. resin is also formed on the rear surface side of the glass substrate 2 in the same manner as for the top coat 4 on the front surface side. After a liquid crystal is sealed in the spacing between the color filter substrate 1 and a counter substrate, the top coat 6 on the rear surface of the glass substrate 2 is peeled by etching with a solvent of hydrochloric acid (HCl). The top coats 4, 6 are the polyimide photosensitive resin and are, therefore, shrunk more drastically by heat than the glass of the glass substrate 2 but since these top coats are formed on both surfaces of the glass substrate 2, the color filter substrate 1 hardly warps. |
