PURPOSE:To perform correct conversion regardless of operator's wrong reading by providing a switching means for switching between use and disuse of suppression information and a means which changes suppression information stored in a storage means. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of an input part 101 capable of input of a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character string, switching of the conversion mode using suppression information, start of the suppression information update mode, etc., a suppression information update mode start signal 102, an update control part 103 which controls update of suppression information, a signal 104 related to conversion work of the KANA character string, conversion request signal, or the like, a switching signal 105 of the mode using suppression information, a conversion control part 106 which controls conversion, a dictionary area 107 where dictionary information is stored, and an output part 108 which outputs the conversion result or the like. When use of suppression information is indicated, only reading as the conversion object is used by suppression information; but when it is not indicated, all of reading is taken as the conversion object to perform KANA-KANJI(Chinese character) conversion, and suppression information is changed a) need. |
