The connection system is provided within a manufacturing environment there is a mixture of non networked machine systems (9), such as robots, NC machine tools, measuring machines. Connections are made (7) onto a line (6) that is to be coupled to a complex network (1). The connection (2) with the network is provided by a multi-tasking computer (3) operating on UNIX or OS-2 software. The terminals (8) of the individual machines are programmed such that the relevant data for each machine can be processed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Allows coupling of non networked machines to network.
