The lighting appts. has a circular plate (10) with light sources (8,9), and the plate is oriented to maximise the intensity of the light. The plate is thicker closer to the light sources and thinner further from the light source at the back of the plate. The plate has reflective borders (11) which have edges at 45 degree angles w.r.t. the light sources. The lighting appts. is constructed so that the radiated light has the same intensity throughout the surface of the plate. The LCD display panel (4) has a coloured, transparent filter plate (6) at the back with a scattering surface to scatter and evenly distribute light. The light sources are on a printed circuits board. ADVANTAGE - Avoids uneven light distribution even at high temp.
